Clay Aiken Returning to Spamalot

Spamalot has sent out this email

No Fakin', Aiken's Back in Town

Brace yourselves, Claymates! The wig masters at the Shubert are
fluffing those glorious red tresses in preparation for Clay Aiken’s
sure-to-be-triumphant return as Sir Robin on September 19. And it's a good thing
too, as the crooner has quipped that life post-SPAMALOT has been seemingly
devoid of meaning. Tasteless food and hue-free grass. Have no fear, Clay. Only a
few more weeks until the skies turn blue again!

Clay Aiken and Jaymes Foster, new parents

Clay & Jaymes in Dec 2006

Clay has spoken many times about wanting children.

Before American Idol he worked as a substitute teacher for a class of elementary school children with Autism. He was so inspired he decided to go to school for Special Education. He was just 6 credits short when he appeared on AI. During the summer in 2003 he toured with the other cast members & completed his degree through an independent study project. The project was to create a fictional foundation that served a special education population. That project turned into the Bubel Aiken Foundation, BAF.

The BAF works to help include children with disabilities into the life environment of children without disabilities. This summer the BAF has given many grants to Lets All Play camps all over the country.

Clay has continued to worked to benefit the lives of children all over the world through his work with Unicef & here in the US through the BAF.

On Friday Clay's dream of becoming a father came true. August 8th, 2008 at 8:08am Clay Aiken & Jaymes Foster (sister of David Foster) had their first child, a son. His name is Parker Foster Aiken. He was 6lbs 2oz & 19in long. Clay said, on his blog, "the little man is healthy, happy and as loud as his daddy. Momma Jaymes is doing quite well also."

I look forward to pictures of the happy family.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Former "American Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken is a father.
The 29-year-old crooner from Raleigh announced the birth of Parker Foster Aiken on his Web site's blog Friday
"No hyphens. One first name," he wrote. "One middle name. One last name."
Aiken's mother, Faye, told Raleigh TV station WRAL the child was born in North Carolina.
Aiken was a favorite of fans during the second season of "American Idol," where he finished second to Ruben Studdard. His album "Measure of a Man" went double platinum in 2003, and he made his Broadway debut this spring in "Monty Python's Spamalot."
The baby's mother is Jaymes Foster, Aiken's friend and record producer whom he met while performing on "American Idol." Their son was born at 8:08 a.m. Friday, and weighed 6 pounds 2 ounces and was 19 inches long, according to the statement on the Web site.
"The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy," Aiken wrote. "Mama Jaymes is doing quite well also."
